This is the very best, and by any reckoning, the most attractive software for making a companion in any field, subject
or theme under the sun and present it as a MM show. Very attractive with catchy OCX controls, it makes you populate the list with your own terms by
either input box strings or via a text file. The list once saved can also be
loaded from registry. Any or all items in the list can be
tied to 1. An image (in JPEG, GIF or BMP format), 2. A text file in RTF format, 3. An animation in GIF or HTM embedded, 4. An audio in waveform, and finally 5. A media file. The
AVI, some MPEG and windows media files are
supported. Originally, this software was limited to make only a companion
or a ready reckoner or kind of a handbook in any field or for any theme
and PPR got the idea while making a similar software in our own
field of interest, structural geology, hence the neme GeoPresent. Similar software by PPR can be
downloaded from here.
An OCX control (165K) which can be used in place of this EXE file
applicable in case of Visual Basic 5 and 6 can be downloaded from http://www.geocities.com/greatocx
or from this site too. A HANDBOOK OF STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY (41.5 MB) can be downloaded from http://www.savefile.com
When you click an item from the list, all five tied to the item are loaded
via registry. The L&H TextToSpeech engine can be used to read the text file in American
English.

The software uses some attractive OCX controls or codes:
1. Attractive List Box control
2. A super picture control to allow zoom in\out.
3. An image transition
control that allows the image to be loaded by
any of the 80 transition effects.

| When you click an item from the list, you are prompted to choose an RTF file
as text file and then an image. This author believes that these two are a must
for any companion and presentation. The author (PPR) initially developed this as on
OCX file for use with VB5 and VB6 and this control can be downloaded by clicking
eye image here .

| Colors
and Fonts |
| The colors of the toolbars, windows, customized message boxes, lists,
rtf text field, picture border etc can
be changed as also the fonts and font attributes. Transparency can be set to
program window by a scrollbar from 0 (none) to 100 (100 per cent). These various
colored circles exist below the image control. Uses a GUI control for
scrollbars.
